Righteousness Road has no righteousness!

On July 18, Miaoli County Government made a final assault to demolish Zhang Pharmacy (張藥房) and a number of other buildings. At around 10 a.m., traffic restrictions were put in place and large numbers of police officers began arriving in tour buses, instead of police vans like before.

At around 3 p.m., immediately following the completed demolition, Professor Hsu Shih-jung (徐世榮) from National Chengchi University began a silent sit-in protest on the now vacant land, where he was quickly joined by many others. As the rain poured relentlessly throughout the afternoon, the protesters maintained a mournful silence, devoid of the characteristic cries of protest; however, the silence was permeated with a palpable spirit of defiance!

苗栗縣政府 7月18日上午突擊行動，拆除大埔張藥房等房屋，約10點開始進行交通管制，警察捨棄以往的警備車，搭乘遊覽車到現場，於下午三點多拆除完畢。政大教授徐世榮，第一時間進入拆除後的空地開始靜坐，隨即有多人陪同靜坐！飄著雨的下午，沒有了往常的抗議聲，現場一片安靜，但似乎可以感覺出有一股力量正在迅速累積。
