Outstanding young person Liao Ting-hao

With the arrival of the annual Youth Day, as usual, the Youth Corps (救國團) has organized a general assembly in recognition of outstanding young people. In spite of his disabilities, street performer Liao Ting-hao (廖庭澔) is both enthusiastic and public-spirited. In addition to his weekend street performances, he often goes out of his way to inspire others with his own experience in triumphing over adversity. As a result, he has been honored with this year’s Outstanding Youth Award, where organizers invited him to perform; Liao Ting-hao has also been formally praised by the President of Taiwan, Ma Ying-jeou. “In spite of Ting’s numerous disabilities, he has used music as a means to help other people and make other people happy … I hope he goes on to help even more people, and through his music bring happiness to himself and others,” said Li Su-chun, Liao Ting-hao’s mother.

一年一度的青年節到來，救國團照例舉辦優秀青年表揚大會，多重障礙街頭藝人廖庭澔平時熱心公益，除了假日的街頭表演外，也常抽空以自身奮發向上的經歷鼓舞別人，因此今年也榮獲優秀青年殊榮，主辦單位還特別邀請庭澔在現場演奏。庭澔也將接受馬英九總統召見表揚。李素純（庭澔的母親）表示：「庭澔有這麼多障礙，然後能夠去用樂音去幫助別人，讓別人很快樂，我希望他能夠越來越能夠幫助別人，然後夠透過他的音樂，能夠自己很快樂，然後別人，帶給別人也很快樂。」
