Thanks for all your love!
Liugui (六龜) is located in the northernmost district of Koahsiung (高雄) and adjacent to Lao-Nong River (荖濃溪). Liugui High School sits nestled in the mountains, and as such, is ripe with a different kind of atmosphere from that of the city. The majority of Liugui District residents work in the agriculture and forestry industry, and generally speaking families are not well off. Chen Hong-yu (陳弘裕), the principle of Liugui High School has not been in his current position long, but with all his hard work and service to the community, he has already earned the deep respect from parents.
Owing to its remote location, 90% of students are boarding students. There is a real sense of harmony between students and teachers, and teachers endeavor to comprehensively care for the children, right down to the smallest of needs. In addition to teachers providing daylong academic guidance, they also try to bestow real parental love on these children.
After the school’s main teaching block was demolished in the 2010 Jiashian Earthquake, the Chang Yung-Fa Foundation (張榮發基金會) honored the school by raising funds and providing over US$2.5m to construct a brand new school building. Shielded from the brutality of the outside world, and bathed in so much tender love and care, the children at Liugui High School are all deeply grateful and fully appreciate the significance of their good fortune.
