Love bees – Nanhua University’s toxic free honeybees

Nanhua University College of Science and Technology Faculty Dean, Chen Shih-shiung, is sharing his passion to help students better understand honeybees. Mr. Chen has brought his hives onto the campus’ rich natural ecology to produce honey and share his rich beekeeping knowledge.  

Chen Shih-shiung often quotes Einstein’s famous saying that if bees disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left. Honeybees not only help with pollination to increase harvest production but are also important ecological indicators.

Chen Shih-shiung appeals to people not to spray toxic pesticides on flowering plants. He has observed that honeybees work together and carry out their respective jobs come rain or shine, which is an excellent example to human beings. Mr. Chen urges everyone to be kind to honeybees and stop misunderstanding them.

南華大學在科技學院院長陳世雄分享自己的興趣，讓學生對蜜蜂有更多的了解，於是把自己家中飼養的蜜蜂帶進校園內，校園有豐富的自然生態可供蜜蜂生產蜂蜜，也能透過知識的傳遞讓更多人了解蜜蜂生態。

陳世雄引述愛因斯坦名言，如果蜜蜂滅絕了，人類就活不過4年，蜜蜂不只幫忙授粉讓花粉產量更高，更重要的是牠們也是重要的生態指標。

陳世雄建議不要對開花植物噴灑有毒農藥，在他的觀察下，蜜蜂分工合作，無論颳風下雨牠總是堅守自身崗位，因此蜜蜂也是人類的好榜樣，藉此呼籲大家要善待蜜蜂，別再對蜜蜂有所誤解。
