A dispute is raging over the high-voltage electrical towers situated on Route 192, near Dafu Rd., in Zhuangwei Township, Yilan County. The towers have not only destroyed the local landscape, but the incessant buzzing sound from cables is proving a heavy invisible psychological burden to the local people. Moreover, this abhorrent facility has not only forced all land prices in the region down to rock bottom, but even at such low prices, enquires are few and far between. The local population has repeatedly protested to Taipower (台灣電力公司) in the hope that the company will consider putting the high-voltage cables underground. However, it seems that the people’s pleas are falling on deaf ears. A number of Yilan County representatives have also approached Taipower in the hope of solving the problem, but met with the same lack of courtesy. Despite the fact that the high-voltage towers have caused a serious impact to local residents, Taipower insists these towers do not affect urban development, and therefore believe there is no issue. This kind of disrespect and abuse of outlying townships has left locals simmering with anger.

宜蘭市通往壯圍鄉的一九二線大福路旁高壓電塔矗立田間，不但破壞農村景觀，高壓電傳送過程嗤嗤作響的聲音，更造成民眾無形的心理負擔。而這項巨大的嫌惡設施 也使得這一帶的地價低落，甚至乏人問津，少有買賣。事實上當地民眾已經多次向台電反應，希望台電把高壓電塔地下化，但卻未獲淂回應。另外包括宜蘭縣多位民 意代表也都向台電反映，但一樣未獲得善意回應。雖然高壓電塔對當地居民造成嚴重影響，但台電認為這些電塔不影響都市發展，因此根本不把它當一回事，這種吃 定偏鄉的態度讓地方人士相當不滿。
